Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything you'd want to know before buying, selling, or investing in Syrian real estate.

1. Can I buy property in Syria as a foreign investor? +

Yes — foreign nationals can acquire property in Syria through registered Syrian companies, joint ventures with local entities, or in some cases under specific exemptions. Sukoon Properties connects you with legal partners who structure each transaction in compliance with Syrian law.

2. What documentation is required for a property transaction? +

All real estate transactions in Syria are recorded with the Real Estate Registry (السجل العقاري). For Syrian nationals: personal ID and family civil register. For foreigners: passport plus a power of attorney where applicable. We work with notaries to ensure full registry compliance.

3. How is property ownership verified? +

We verify ownership through the Real Estate Registry and confirm the title is free of liens or disputes before listing. Each property carries a Sukoon Properties reference code (SK-XXXX) for traceability.

4. What property types are available? +

Residential apartments and houses, traditional Bayt Arabi heritage homes, offices, commercial retail, hospitality assets, and land — across all 14 Syrian governorates.

5. How do I enquire about a listing? +

Every listing has an Inquire button — send a short message and our team replies by email, usually within a day. Mention the property reference code (SK-XXXX) so we can identify it quickly.

6. Are international sanctions a concern? +

Real estate transactions inside Syria are not inherently restricted, but some cross-border financial flows are. Buyers from sanctioning jurisdictions should consult their local counsel; we structure each transaction transparently to support compliance.
